Parks board to discuss one-year parks agreement with 60-40 split
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is set to discuss an interim Town-County joint powers agreement that would shift funding to 60% county and 40% town through June 30, 2027.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will discuss a one-year interim Joint Powers Agreement at its Nov. 10 meeting at the Recreation Center meeting agenda. Department staff say elected officials are still working out the longer-term funding structure after an Oct. 5 joint session of the Teton County commission and Jackson Town Council department report.
Under the interim agreement presented earlier this year, the prior joint powers agreement expired in March 2026 and would be replaced with the same provisions except for a new funding split, 60% county and 40% town staff report. The draft agreement would run until June 30, 2027, giving the town and county a year to negotiate a longer-term deal staff report.
The record shows the advisory board had already teed up “Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) Funding & Governance” as an action item on Feb. 24 Feb. 24 agenda.
