Meeting:

Jackson council to vote on Resolution 26-23 fee schedule, parklets in play

Town Council is set to consider Resolution 26-23, a townwide fee schedule effective Nov. 10, including whether parklet fees stay on the books after generating $38,000 in 2026.

Town Council is set to vote on Resolution 26-23, which would rescind prior fee schedules and adopt a new Town of Jackson fee schedule effective Nov. 10, 2026, according to the Nov. 9 agenda meeting agenda and staff materials in the meeting packet agenda packet. Staff note that 19 parklet spaces generated $38,000 in revenue in 2026, and if parklets are removed from the fee schedule (tied to a potential ordinance repeal), that revenue would drop to $0 agenda packet. The packet also says updated cemetery winter burial fees are intended to cover the town’s purchase of pre-installed casket and urn vaults.

The record shows Council already workshopped fee philosophy and permit fee methodology this year, including discussion that Building Department fees were increased by consumer price index and a shift from square footage to valuation-based fees for new construction had been tabled Aug. 17 workshop packet.

If the town wants residents to accept higher fees, the packet should make it easy to see what actually changed, line by line, and what new revenue staff expects from each change.
