Meeting:

Parks board to weigh $750,000 in Porter Ranch work for fiscal 2029

A draft parks capital plan up for review Nov. 10 includes $750,000 for Porter Ranch improvements in fiscal 2029, plus an estimated $20,000 a year in ongoing operations and maintenance.

Teton County’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is set to review a draft five-year capital plan on Nov. 10 that budgets $750,000 in fiscal 2029 for Porter Ranch improvements, listed as a county “New Development” project with about $20,000 in annual operations and maintenance costs Parks and Recreation Board agenda and Parks and Recreation Division Capital Improvement Plan financials.

The recent record shows Porter Ranch’s subdivision infrastructure was already built out and inspected. County staff told commissioners in April 2026 that “all work is complete” for the 80-lot Porter Ranch subdivision, clearing the way to release the remaining $809,258 surety tied to the Subdivision Improvement Agreement Subdivision Improvement Agreement Release packet. In September 2026, county planning staff described Porter Ranch as the already “platted Porter Ranch subdivision” inside the larger Northern South Park Area 1 Development Plan area Northern South Park Area 1 packet.

If the county is going to spend $750,000 here, I would like to see the work list spelled out plainly so landowners and neighbors know what gets built and when.
