Crash on Stateline Road (Alta side) triggers cross-border response and day-long follow-ups. First worked around 05:25–05:28 on TG 1801: the crash occurred on the Wyoming side, a Teton County, Idaho deputy responded, and Driggs dispatch was coordinated by phone. The primary tow company couldn't be raised for over an hour; a second company (Ron's) was headed through Driggs by 07:50, and a deputy was with the vehicle on Stateline Road at 08:30. At 07:11 a records return showed the suspected driver's license suspended with priors for DUS, DUI and open container. Follow-up calls continued all day, including a property owner at 17:26 reporting property destruction believed linked to the crash.
Halloween night enforcement wave: juvenile drivers cited, one DUI arrest. From midnight to about 01:05, TG 1801 carried a steady run of stops on juvenile drivers with nighttime license restrictions — citations and verbal warnings issued, kids released to parents, and courtesy rides given. At 00:18 a unit in Hoback reported roughly ten kids running off behind a store. A PBT of .147 was reported at 00:30. A separate stop ended with an adult female driver (suspended out-of-state license per dispatch) arrested and transported to jail by 01:48, agreeing to a breath test under implied consent at 01:59. All units cleared the juvenile contacts at 01:05.
Shots-fired reports at Emily Stevens Park turn out to be apparent duck hunters. Starting 16:59, multiple callers reported teenagers firing shotguns near the parking lot, later described as three juveniles on e-bikes possibly holding a rifle. Several units responded; one noted on air "it is duck season." Officers contacted two juvenile males and a female at 17:17, ran checks, and cleared without reported enforcement.
Driver follows resident home; deputies track red Jeep onto WY-22. At 20:47 dispatch reported a man had followed an RP home; the vehicle, an older red Jeep Wrangler with Colorado plates and off-road lights, left toward town. Units caught up at 20:54, followed it onto Highway 22 and stopped it near the batch plant/Spring Gulch area [suspect transcription]. Records checks came back clear and valid; units were code 4 at 21:32 and cleared with a report at 21:49.
Rocks down on Teton Pass. At 05:57 a deputy asked dispatch to notify WYDOT of "football-sized" rocks in the westbound lane near the top of the pass; at 11:34 WHP rebroadcast a hazard of about six large but hand-movable rocks in the road near the WY-22 summit (around MM 12).
Two fire runs, no fire. At 18:38 Engine 11/duty officer were paged to East Kelly Avenue for a propane leak; Battalion 2 investigated with the reporting party while Engine 11 held at the station. At 19:08 a commercial fire alarm at the Pearl Place building on West Pearl Avenue (single activation, basement duct) was checked by Engine 11 — panel showed all systems normal, occupants heard no alarm, cleared. Separately, at 08:43 a START bus driver reported what looked like a sizable fire on the ski slopes above Teton Village; no corresponding fire dispatch appears in the log and its status is unknown.
Also on the air
A routine but busy Sunday otherwise: a cold-report fender-bender at a hardware store (09:15); an overnight hit-and-run in which a vehicle struck a building on Powderhorn Lane leaving car parts behind (09:46); a male acting strangely in a downtown store who reportedly tried to take safe keys, gone before officers arrived (11:04–11:19); a public-intoxication arrest after a welfare check at a brew pub, with a jail medical refusal and a clearance stop at St. John's (15:44–16:38); a second jail transport after a no-license traffic stop near Cornerstone (15:53–16:22); a repeat-caller welfare situation involving an elderly resident with possible dementia (05:51, again mid-afternoon); loose cows and horses along WY-22 (08:52, 08:55); an injured deer on West Broadway referred to Game & Fish (22:43); a smoke report that turned out to be someone smoking outside a house (16:49); a parking complaint, a motorist assist in the parking garage, roughly seven traffic stops and dozens of plate/records checks; and a stolen-vehicle BOLO for a Dodge pickup broadcast on the WYDOT channel at 01:23.
By the numbers
- 1,299 transmissions across 289 exchanges (98 short status-only exchanges omitted from the detailed log).
- Busiest talkgroup: TG 1801 Teton County law dispatch, 1,115 transmissions. Busiest hour: 01:00–02:00, with 193 transmissions (Halloween enforcement push).
- Categories: status 130, unclassified 60, records checks 28, plate checks 16, medical 16, crash 10, traffic stops 7, fire 6, animal 5, traffic complaints 5, welfare 2, plus single transit, parking, suspicious and alarm exchanges.
Caveats
- A large share of today's traffic is not Teton County: TG 13751 (62 transmissions) is Fremont County EMS paging out of Lander — including two injury-accident pages (10:46 Johnstown Spur area; 17:51 Hwy 789 MM 94) and a Riverton overdose (22:17) — and TG 109 is statewide WHP, mostly I-80/Sweetwater-area complaints.
- Machine transcription is rough tonight: business and road names ("Bella Fine Goods," "Carnes Meadow Road," "Spring Gulch") and several unit numbers are uncertain, and numerous lines are marked [suspect]. The 20:44 single-vehicle rollover included spoken coordinates that plot near Casper, not Teton County — it may be out-of-county traffic relayed locally.
- The ski-slope fire reported by a START driver at 08:43 has no visible resolution in the log; treat as unconfirmed.
