County set to review Wyoming Department of Transportation offer for Hoback fire station parcel
Commissioners have scheduled a Nov. 9 workshop to consider WYDOT’s latest offer for the Hoback Junction fire station site, but the calendar notice does not disclose a price or other terms.
Teton County commissioners have penciled in a Nov. 9 workshop to consider the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) offer for the Hoback Fire Station parcel at Hoback Junction commissioners’ calendar. The calendar item lists 30 minutes for the discussion, and it does not include the purchase price, acreage, or any draft agreement language.
The record shows the county previously pursued a no-cost transfer. In April, commissioners were asked to sign an “Agreement of Acceptance” for WYDOT to relinquish right of way for a fire station site “ENCOMPASSING an area of 1.60 acres, more or less” April 2026 packet. In September, after the Wyoming Transportation Commission did not approve relinquishment, commissioners wrote WYDOT that the county “intends to pursue the option of negotiating” a direct sale and asked to start the appraisal and site evaluation process Sept. 8 letter.
For everyone who depends on quick response in the Hoback and Snake River corridor, it would help if the county publishes the offer terms before the workshop so the public can react to the price and any strings attached.
