Commissioners to review Justice Center budget holding at $118.5 million
A Nov. 2 project update to the county commissioners says the Justice Center team is still working to a $118.5 million total budget, including soft costs and contingencies, and reports the job is currently on budget after February’s guaranteed maximum price reset.
Teton County commissioners on Nov. 2 are set to take up a monthly project update that pegs the Teton County Justice Center’s total budget at $118.5 million, including soft costs and contingencies, and says the project is “currently on budget” after budget line items were adjusted with the final guaranteed maximum price in February 2026 Wember BPM report.
The last monthly update presented to commissioners in early October used the same $118.5 million total and similarly tied the budget reset to the Feb. 17 guaranteed maximum price approval Oct. 5 update. Separate from the monthly update cycle, commissioners have also been asked this year to cover added architectural services out of the project owner’s contingency, including a $140,000 additional services request approved in early September architect services request.
A budget number this big only means something if the county keeps publishing, in plain English, what “on budget” assumes for remaining contingency and soft costs as contracts get finalized.
