Meeting:

Commissioners to review $4.8M Owner Change Order #3 for temporary courts

On Nov. 2, county commissioners are set to review a project update that lists GE Johnson's Owner Change Order #3 as the final $4,796,666 price tag for the temporary modular court building.

A Justice Center project update headed to the Board of County Commissioners would put a firm number on the temporary court setup: GE Johnson’s Owner Change Order #3 for the temporary court building (modulars) is listed at a final guaranteed maximum price of $4,796,666.00, according to Wember and Berning Project Management’s Nov. 2 report to the county Wember/BPM update. In the same change order summary, the report also lists an earlier modular building contract amendment, Owner Change Order #2, at $113,290.59.

The record shows the $4,796,666 figure has been carried in monthly Justice Center updates for at least the past two months, appearing in the Oct. 5 report Oct. 5 update and the Aug. 31 report Aug. 31 update. What is still hard to see from the public-facing updates is an itemized breakdown of what sits inside that $4.8 million total.
