Top stories
- Possible gunshot wound at a multi-unit building on West Snow King Avenue. At 11:04 dispatch (TG 1801) sent units to a third-floor community room in the area of West Snow King Avenue for a confused 911 call with a language barrier — callers reported "blood everywhere," a man with a possible gunshot wound to the head and a handgun found under his leg; it was unknown on air whether it was self-inflicted. Medic 10 staged at 11:06, transported to St. John's at 11:21, and deputies ran traffic control at Moose/Snow King. Units cleared the scene by about 11:50; a unit was assigned to follow-up on the "Snow King call" at 14:19. No further disposition was broadcast.
- Injury-reported crash closed Pearl Avenue downtown. At 13:18 a collision with injuries was dispatched at South Jackson and West Pearl; first callers described bleeding faces and a man punching a car. Fire/EMS (TG 1807) found two vehicles with moderate damage and, after assessment, no patients (13:24) — the initial injury report did not hold up. Pearl was closed between South Cache and South Jackson until about 14:07. One involved vehicle appears to match the Idaho-plated black Ford reported at 12:23 for passing in the US-89 construction zone and nearly causing two head-ons [suspect — garbled plate traffic].
- Hit-and-run on US-89 by Big R. At 18:11 a blue Subaru with airbags deployed was left in the travel lane after being struck; the suspect vehicle — a large white pickup, no plates — was last seen eastbound on Meadowlark from 89. Medic 10 slow-rolled at law enforcement's request; all parties assessed, no transports. Units canvassed the area without locating the truck; report taken (~18:44).
- Extrication feared, then downgraded, on South US-89. At 14:06 dispatch relayed a Subaru-vs-truck collision near South Park Drive (WYDOT put it at mm 149.5) with possible extrication needed. It was downgraded to property damage only — no blockage, no injuries; one tow, vehicle leaking fluids rolled at 14:28, WHP handled.
- Three gas/alarm calls, nothing found. Engine 11 and Battalion 6 chased a water-flow alarm on Pine Glades Drive at 01:54 (no water, no hazard; crews set off a burglar alarm checking units), a strong gas odor at an apartment complex on South Park Loop Road at 03:16 (an officer smelled gas outside but a full walkthrough found no hazard), and a passerby's propane-odor report at the Sage Living Center entrance at 15:04 (nothing found).
- Regional alerts: two missing-person ATLs (a man last seen giving a coworker a ride near a campground, welfare check for Sheridan County, 01:40; a Thayne-area man in his 70s with dementia in a white Dodge Durango, 12:45) and two stolen-vehicle broadcasts — a blue Passat (transcribed as both "Volkswagen" and "Volvo," Cheyenne PD authority, 18:52) and a dark blue 2014 Hyundai Sonata taken in Afton around 19:30 by a suspect believed extremely intoxicated who may have entered the wrong vehicle (22:32). All were be-on-lookout traffic, not local incidents.

An overnight arrest for a release-order violation after a stop near Emily's Pond (driver jailed by 01:05); a warrant arrest at 10:01; tires slashed at an RP's workplace on Michael Drive after a driving dispute, ending in a citation by 10:13; a welfare check on an elderly driver dozing off in a parking lot, resolved when an officer drove her home (09:09); Rescue 22 flew to Munger Mountain with six aboard at 11:00 and was back by 12:12 (purpose not stated). Roughly 56 plate checks and 27 records checks, 31 medical-category exchanges, a dozen animal calls (one dog impounded, one dog outrunning an officer at Home Ranch lot, a neighbor dog dispute on East River Drive), several parking complaints (construction vehicles on West Highway 22, a double-parked minivan on South Millward), two commercial alarms (both secure/false), a man passed out at the Maple Way bus stop near the Hampton Inn (roused, intoxicated; START briefly rerouted), an open-911 pocket dial, a verbal domestic on Meadowlark Lane, a check on a reportedly unoccupied log cabin near Gros Ventre Street, and authorized hunters checked out on the Elk Refuge (20:40). WYDOT's Teton Pass weigh-in-motion reports ran all day on TG 6382, and school/START bus channels carried routine traffic — including a triple rainbow over the Tetons at 07:54.
By the numbers
- 1,980 transmissions across 645 exchanges (288 short status-only exchanges omitted from the log).
- Busiest talkgroup: TG 1801 Teton County law dispatch (1,191 transmissions); then TG 1807 Fire/EMS (205) and TG 6382 Highway/WYDOT (177).
- Busiest hour: 18:00–19:00 (191 transmissions); 14:00 (152) and 13:00 (151) close behind.
- Categories: 56 plate checks, 31 medical, 27 records checks, 14 traffic complaints, 13 crash, 12 animal, 11 transit, 8 fire, 6 traffic stops, 5 noise/parking, 4 alarms; one each warrant op, hazard, open 911 line, domestic; 254 unclassified, 200 status.
Caveats
- Significant non-local traffic in today's log: TG 13751 is Fremont County EMS paging (Lander/Riverton), TG 109 is statewide WHP, and TG 113/6382/6403 carried Rock Springs, Evanston, Afton/Thayne and Lander broadcasts. The TG 0 and TG 1812 traffic (open 911 line, domestic, school-bus chatter) is on unidentified talkgroups and may not all be Teton County.
- Whisper transcription is rough today: unit numbers, plates and road names are frequently mangled ("Lube/Loop/Louvre Apartments," "Ridegrass Road," "Cole Canyon," "Volvo/Volkswagen Passat"). The Snow King call details (weapon make, wound location) come from garbled dispatch relays and should be treated as unconfirmed.
- Low coverage 23:00–05:00 (fewer than 40 transmissions most hours), so overnight items may be incomplete.
