Missing bar patron found safe after overnight search.

Top stories

  • Missing bar patron found safe after overnight search. At 01:08 dispatch (TG 1801) took a missing-person report for a visitor last seen at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar who hadn't returned to his hotel; the RP said he was likely intoxicated and tried to walk back. At least three units searched downtown — the Virginian, the hotel area, Miller Park — and at 01:45 unit 753 located him on the hotel's second floor. All units cleared by 01:49.
  • Fight at the Cowboy Bar; one man taken to jail. At 23:08 units 775 and 753 were sent to the Cowboy for a disturbance — transcribed as "snails fighting," almost certainly males fighting [suspect]. One man was detained; unit 709 started transport to the jail at 23:25, and a witness statement was being taken at 23:51. Same bar, earlier: a roughly 60-year-old patron fainted near the pool tables at 20:00; Medic 10 found him conscious and standing.
  • Gas-leak scare draws multi-unit fire response in the West Bank area. At 16:30 Engines 21 and 61, Support 69 and a battalion chief (TG 1807) were paged to a West Rockcrest Road residence after a guest smelled gas and heard a vibrating noise in the mechanical room and evacuated. Engine 61 arrived 16:37, found no readings; incoming units stood down at 16:41 and all crews cleared at 16:47 after a walkthrough with the caretaker.
  • CO alarm north of town comes up clean. At 14:35 Engine 11 responded to a residential carbon-monoxide alarm on North Bar B Bar River Road, keyholder initially not on site. A walk of the entire structure found no hazards; cleared 15:06 with advice that the keyholder contact the alarm company.
  • Stuck delivery semi snarls morning bus service on Maple Way. From 06:31 a semi unable to make the turn past a dug-up sidewalk blocked two local and two town-shuttle START buses (TG 1820); drivers reported cars bouncing over the curb to get around. Police were requested at 06:36 and buses were rerouted and moving again by about 06:51.
  • SAR helicopter flew midday. TG 1814 traffic had Rescue 2-2 off the Star Hangar for Bryan Flats at 10:43 with five aboard, returning and landing back at the hangar between 12:21 and 12:30. Nature of the flight (operation vs. training) wasn't stated on air.

Also on the air

A routine shoulder-season day otherwise: 22 plate checks and 15 records checks, mostly bar-district and highway traffic; two REDDI reports in-county (a burgundy Jeep weaving on WY-22 at 15:37 that pulled into CarQuest and checked out, and a swerving silver Pathfinder on US-89 at 20:23 that was stopped and let go with a lane-use warning at 21:05). Animal traffic included a deer hit at Flat Creek Drive/W. Snow King (handed to Game & Fish), a possibly injured calf moose, and cattle out on the WY-22 bike path. Also: a 911 open line from a school landline on South Park Loop Road (buildings secure), a no-contact warrant attempt on Josephine Loop, a parking complaint over 10–12 unplated for-sale vehicles at Maple Way/Powderhorn Lane, an abandoned-vehicle tag, routine jail transports, several Teton Pass overweight-truck WIM notices, and school-bus (TG 1812) chatter about lost coats, student pickups and an evacuation drill. START swapped out a bus with a cooling-gauge fault at 20:32–20:48 without losing the run.

By the numbers

1,778 transmissions across 600 exchanges (plus 298 short status-only exchanges omitted from the log). Busiest talkgroup: TG 1801 Teton County law dispatch (926 transmissions); busiest hour: 14:00–15:00 (179). Categories: status 210, unclassified 257, medical 29, plate-check 22, transit 20, records-check 15, traffic-complaint 14, animal 8, fire 6, traffic-stop 6, crash 4, alarm 2, welfare 2, noise-parking 2, and one each 911 open line, suspicious, and domestic.

Caveats

  • A substantial share of today's traffic is not Teton County: TG 13751 is Fremont County EMS paging (~15 medical pages, plus an injury crash on the reservation), and TG 109/much of TG 6382 is statewide WHP and I-80 traffic (Green River/Rock Springs/Evanston complaints, a hit-and-run at I-80 MM 90). Routine out-of-county pages are omitted from the incident log below; the crash count of 4 includes out-of-county events.
  • Whisper transcription is rough today: unit numbers, names and streets are unreliable ("snails fighting," "Boga Daga," "Jacksonville Classical Academy" — likely Jackson Hole Classical Academy), and [suspect]-tagged lines are low confidence. Some WYDOT exchanges around 21:49 appear to cross-mix a Jackson officer and an I-80 trooper.
  • TG 1812 is unidentified but consistent with school-district bus operations; TG 1814 appears to carry SAR helicopter ops. Both are reported here with that assumption.
