Top stories

  • Flying tire hits oncoming car on Spring Gulch Road (15:19). A 911 open line resolved into an injury collision at Spring Gulch Road near Polo/Poso Place [suspect spelling]: a tire that came off an oncoming truck struck a white Subaru, deploying its airbags; the driver reported arm pain but declined transport. Engine 11, Medic 10, an off-duty firefighter, and county units (2210, 2252) responded; units covered both ends of Spring Gulch but the truck — described only as a black Ford or Dodge work truck — continued north and was not located. By 15:36 an officer determined it was a spare tire and holder that came out of a truck bed.
  • Battery call at the Rose; one arrested, one to hospital (01:43). Caller reported an intoxicated male being forcibly detained at the Rose; Medic 10 staged, then was cleared direct for a patient upstairs with a possible leg injury. One male was transported to the jail at 01:57; the medic transported to St. John's; officers followed up at the hospital on the battery.
  • Driver found unconscious in vehicle off South Park Loop (09:13). Medic 10, Fire 6 and several law units responded to South Park Loop Road at Melody Creek Lane for a woman unconscious in a locked vehicle that had left the road into a fence by the bike path. The vehicle was opened by 09:26, the patient arrived at St. John's at 09:52, her spouse was notified, and the car was towed out; it appears medical, not criminal.
  • Report of kids with a gun near the 49er turns out to be a BB gun (18:48). RP reported four juveniles, 12–14, who dropped and retrieved a firearm near the pool at the 49er on West Pearl Avenue. Three units searched; two juveniles were located at 19:14, a black BB gun was recovered at 19:31, and officers drove both home. Resolved without charges mentioned on air.
  • WY-390 briefly closed after truck-trailer knocks down signs on Moose-Wilson Road (12:00). A truck pulling a trailer with a CAT machine struck a street sign and multiple pathway signs near a Moose-Wilson Road driveway. • Darby Wind Caves party out safe (20:36). On TG 1814, search-and-rescue coordination for subjects at the Darby Wind Caves ended when the RP called back to say the party was out safe and driving from the trailhead.

Also on the air

A busy but routine day otherwise: an overnight hit-and-run into a parked flatbed trailer at Jackson and Kelly [suspect street names] reported by Public Works (05:34); a no-injury RAV4-vs-deer collision near Teton Village (06:46); four alarm calls (two residential, a bank, a restaurant kitchen door) — all false or resolved; 13 animal calls including two loose dogs returned to owners and a moose jam south of the roundabout caused by gawkers (18:48); a truant child located at Target and returned to school; a cold gas-siphoning report on Flat Creek Drive; a parking complaint at Moran Elementary handled with a park ranger's help; a START school bus with a coolant leak swapped out mid-route; roughly 42 plate checks and a handful of traffic stops ending in warnings; and regional broadcasts of two stolen vehicles, livestock on highways, and school-bus passing complaints.

2,080 transmissions across 568 exchanges (255 short status-only exchanges omitted from the log). Busiest talkgroup: TG 1801 Teton County law dispatch (1,472 transmissions); busiest hour: 20:00–21:00 (176), followed by 15:00–16:00 (164). Caveats

  • A large share of medical traffic is TG 13751, which is EMS paging for Lander/Riverton (Fremont County), and TG 109/113 carry statewide WHP and mutual-aid traffic (Evanston, Rock Springs, Sweetwater, Lander) — none of that is Teton County activity, including a serious injury crash near mm 543 on US-191 South in Sweetwater County (14:00).
  • Transcription quality is poor in places: unit numbers, street names ("Jackson and Kelly," "Buzz Liquor," "Polo Place," "Rock Farm") and several outcomes are machine-garbled; lines marked [suspect] are low-confidence and some exchanges were unreadable on air and repeated.
  • TG 1812 and TG 1814 are unlabeled in our system; 1812 appears to be school-bus operations and 1814 appears to be search-and-rescue coordination, but that identification is unconfirmed. A 23:56 Fremont County page for a "PI accident" was almost entirely unintelligible.
