Fuel spill into Mosquito Creek drainage draws multi-unit hazmat response. At 17:59 a deputy on TG 1801 asked for fire to Mosquito Creek at Fall Creek (Wilson area) for a fuel spill — reported as a patrol vehicle with about three-quarters of a tank; a partial exchange on TG 1808 suggests a sheriff's deputy's fuel tank was punctured. Dispatch paged Battalion 6, Engines 21 and 61, Support 69 and Medic 60 at 18:04 for roughly 26 gallons of fuel. Crews dammed and vacuumed; the IC reported the leak stopped at 18:28 and released all units except Engine 21, which stood by for a tow.
Unresponsive passenger on United flight at Jackson Hole Airport. At 07:37 tower/airport traffic reported an unresponsive female on a United aircraft on the ground; Medic 10 and MD-1 responded (TG 1807), met at gate 3 airside with a reported BP of 75/59. Outcome: patient refusal at 08:03, all units clear.
Scott Lane closure whipsawed bus operations all day. START (TG 1820) and school-bus drivers (TG 1812) reported Scott Lane — referenced as in Alpine — open around 06:26, barricaded again by 06:55, and still closed at 16:03; a supervisor said at 18:43 it was "officially" opened in the evening but the detour and stop closures stay in place. Separately, in-town construction closed Cache Street south of Pearl (reported 15:01) and Redmond between Hall and Kelly, with Redmond reported fully reopened by 15:36.
Welfare check at Flat Creek Apartments ends with no contact. At 18:11, units 759/764 were sent to the apartments on West Snow King. At 18:29 an officer described a woman with a bloodshot eye appearing as if struck, vomit and a can of air duster in her vehicle, and a drop of blood outside the residence; she moved around inside but refused to answer. Officers cleared with negative contact at 18:55.
Aggressive/hazardous driving on the main highways. At 12:27 dispatch broadcast a complaint of a black sports car (22 County plate) passing on a double yellow into oncoming traffic westbound on WY-22 from the Teton Pass summit; a deputy reported out with a driving complaint at the summit at 17:27. Earlier, at 12:20, parks dispatch broadcast a traffic hazard for a hay-laden tractor-trailer leaning to one side southbound on N US-89 from Gros Ventre Junction. Neither broadcast shows a logged resolution.
Also on the air
A routine day otherwise: two local EMS runs besides the airport call (03:06 Anvil Motel fall, 73-year-old transported to St. John's; 16:22 urgent-care shortness of breath, 86-year-old transported); 45 medical exchanges overall, most of them Fremont County paging. Four minor no-injury collisions (Maverik lot, Motel 6/Big R area, hospital ER entrance, high school parking lot) plus a hit-and-run follow-up. Two alarm runs cleared as false (Teton Village residence, downtown art studio), a residential fire alarm on South Sandy Creek Lane and a CO alarm on Ryegrass Road that swept clean. Theft reports for a stolen pistol and a stolen ATV/four-wheeler. Animal calls included a bear tearing into trash on Obsidian Road (Game & Fish responding, 16:05) and an uncatchable loose husky at Hanson/Simpson. Transit crews also juggled two buses with engine warnings, a tour bus in the Pearl/Glenwood stop, and a START driver who put disruptive passengers off at Smith's. Dozens of plate/records checks and traffic stops on US-89 south, WY-22 and Spring Gulch, mostly verbal warnings.
By the numbers
- 2,380 transmissions across 732 exchanges; 339 short status-only exchanges omitted.
- Busiest talkgroup: TG 1801 Teton County law dispatch (1,192 transmissions); busiest hour: 16:00–17:00 (274).
- Categories: unclassified 276, status 272, medical 45, plate-check 32, records-check 27, transit 27, fire 13, crash 10, traffic-complaint 8, welfare 6, traffic-stop 6, animal 5, alarm 2, noise-parking 2, hazard 1.
Caveats
- Significant non-Teton traffic in the log: TG 13751 is Fremont County EMS paging (Lander/Riverton — includes a canceled outside-fire page at mp 117 US-26 and a grass fire south of Lander); TG 109/113 are statewide WHP/mutual-aid; TG 6586, 6382 and 6386 carried mostly I-80 WYDOT/TMC traffic (Evanston–Rock Springs), including a wrong-way-driver report at mm 154 that patrol could not locate.
- Whisper transcription is rough throughout: unit numbers, names and plates are unreliable, and several key lines are [suspect] — including the 18:16 line attributing the fuel spill to a punctured deputy tank, and a 01:08 missing-person ATL whose originating agency transcribed as "China PD" (likely garbled, probably not Teton County).
- Some incidents lack a logged outcome (18:35 Sandy Creek Lane fire alarm, the WY-22 and US-89 driving complaints); overnight 02:00–05:00 traffic was minimal and may reflect a coverage gap.
