Top stories
- Vehicle vs. bicycle, South US-89 at High School Road (06:06). A black Ford Escape and an e-bike rider, a 65-year-old woman, collided at the intersection (TG 1801/1807). First report said she was out of the roadway but unable to walk; corrected on air at 06:10 to alert, able to stand, with head and back pain. Medic 60 was paged and stood down; Medic 10 transported, arriving St. John's at 06:34. START rerouted town shuttles around the intersection until the scene cleared about 06:27.
- Hit-and-run with possible impaired driver, McDonald's drive-through (19:56). An RP was rear-ended in the drive-through by a gray Subaru Forester that fled south on Powderhorn Lane; the RP said the driver slurred his words and claimed a stuck pedal (TG 1801, units 769/771). The car was found parked and unoccupied on Powderhorn at 20:22; dispatch ran its VIN against all 50 states with no valid registration anywhere. A driver's license first called valid was corrected on air at 20:34 to suspended indefinitely out of Florida. One adult male was taken to jail at 20:50; cleared with report 21:23. Charges weren't stated on air.
- Domestic behind MovieWorks, Huff Lane (20:55). A woman reported being hit by a man still with her; language barrier noted. One man was detained within minutes; Medic 60 was paged at 21:03 but the woman declined, later going to the hospital with an officer. Dispatch found she is the protected party in an existing protection order and the detained man matched the respondent, with the suspect vehicle also listed in the order. He went to jail and the case cleared with a report at 21:23.
- Unresponsive guest, Signal Mountain Lodge (20:46). At the park's request, Medic 10 and Station 4 responded to a guest who went from clutching their chest to unresponsive in the restaurant. Park Medic 2 responded from Jackson Lake Junction and canceled county units at 21:03; outcome not on this log. Dispatch worked this and the MovieWorks domestic simultaneously — 20:00 was the day's busiest hour.
- Delta-response chest pain, Gros Ventre Campground (22:59). A 70-year-old camper with chest pain, numbness and difficulty speaking; the park was initially unreachable, so JH Fire/EMS responded, with a firefighter first on scene guiding Medic 10 in. Transport to St. John's began 23:27, arriving 23:48.
- Moose all over town. A bull moose struck on WY-22 near MM 16.5 was put down by a WHP trooper by 08:13; Game & Fish responded and WYDOT was asked to remove the carcass. Separately, deputies shadowed a moose near Colter Elementary during a passing period (10:46, shelter-in-place requested), one on middle-school property (14:42), one drawing close-range photographers off Kelly Road (16:36), and a Gros Ventre "moose jam" was passed to the park (19:00).
Also on the air
An early medical at the Hatchet Resort in Moran (04:27, abdominal pain) cost crews ~30 minutes hunting for a "cabin 29" at a property with 22 rooms before the patient was found behind the restaurant. Downtown streets around Gros Ventre/Broadway, Pearl, Kelly/Cache and Carnes were closed on and off all day (cause never stated on air), repeatedly detouring START shuttles. Deputies ran roughly a dozen trailer/plate checks at the Teton Pass summit between ~06:54 and 08:42, plus a motorist assist at the summit. Four alarm calls (Teton Village fire alarm, two residential burglar alarms, TJ Maxx) all came back false, canceled or secure. Two driving complaints on US-89 (one UTL, one stopped and warned), a prisoner transport to Bondurant and back (09:33–13:05), two SAR helicopter Rescue 22 training flights, a START bus with reported steering trouble (06:53) and a Teton Valley commuter bus no-show (17:23), assorted records checks, parking complaints, a found firearm [suspect], and a late report of a car missing from East Deloney (23:29) — not towed, last on camera at Cache and Broadway that morning.
By the numbers
1,956 transmissions across 528 exchanges (225 short status-only exchanges omitted from the log). Busiest talkgroup: TG 1801 Teton County law dispatch (1,194 transmissions), then TG 1807 Fire/EMS (230) and TG 1820 START (154). Busiest hour: 20:00 (184), with 16:00 (174) and 15:00 (170) close behind; quietest 01:00–03:00. Auto-categories (noisy — see caveats): medical 43, plate-check 39, records-check 28, transit 19, animal 8, crash 6, alarm 4, plus 199 unclassified and 172 status.
Caveats
- A meaningful share of today's traffic is not Teton County: TG 13751 is Fremont County EMS paging (including an 08:07 staging for a reported stabbing/gunshot — Lander area, not Jackson), TG 109 is statewide WHP, TG 6386/6403 carried Rock Springs, Pinedale and Big Piney traffic, and TG 13738, TG 113 (port-of-entry) and TG 436 (air ops) appear in the log but not in the stats block, so totals don't fully reconcile.
- Machine transcription is rough: unit numbers drift (e.g., 2237/2037, 718/719), several lines are Whisper hallucinations (subtitle credits, "Iowa Public Television"), and category tags are unreliable — the "fire" entry is just an alarm page, and some "animal"/"transit" tags are mislabeled.
- TG 1812 appears to be school-bus dispatch; its traffic (including student pickups) is summarized only generically for privacy.
