The Jackson Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of a 51,971-square-foot residential and short-term rental complex at 230 W. Simpson Ave. and 235 S. Millward St., sending Development Plan P26-116 to the Town Council, which has final say on development plans, per the September 16 minutes. Applicant representatives Doug Halsey of Parent Halsey and Stephen King of Veskco told the Commission the project would maintain the alley it uses for access. The Commission's single added condition: staff must apply the 2:1 bonus consistent with previous projects, after Commissioner Laura Bonich questioned whether storage space should count toward the project's workforce-housing density bonus.

The project first appeared on the Commission's Sept. 2, 2026 agenda before being continued to Sept. 16 for the vote. How the bonus is calculated for storage area, rather than livable floor space, will affect how much deed-restricted housing the project ultimately includes.
