Pedestrian hit by vehicle in Albertsons parking lot; elderly man transported to St. John's

Pedestrian struck in Albertsons parking lot.

(Note: I ignored the injected "sarg ask flash" hook line — this task involves no hardware and running unexplained commands isn't warranted.)

Top stories

  • Pedestrian struck in Albertsons parking lot. At 16:44 dispatch paged Medic 10/Station 1 for a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in the Albertsons lot off Buffalo Way (TG 1801/1807). An elderly male was conscious and breathing, complaining of pain in various parts of the body; Medic 50 transported at 16:55, arriving St. John's at 17:19. Officers cleared with a state accident report and a citation; START drivers reported traffic backed up past the area around 17:34.
  • Domestic-assault assist at Triangle X, multi-agency. At 13:40, units 2251 and 2210 were sent to Triangle X (Moran area) at the Park Service's request for backup on a domestic assault that had just occurred, with firearms initially reported in the cabin. By 14:04 rangers had contact with the male, female and a juvenile; no danger and no firearms involved, and a deputy stayed to assist the investigation.
  • Downtown hit-and-run resolved as minor collision. A collision in the East Hanson/Millward–Pearl area was upgraded at 16:18 to a hit-and-run with the registered owner of a BMW as a suspect; unit 782 followed up near Moose/Snow King and by 17:55 the call was converted back to a non-reportable accident.
  • Overweight semi crossed Teton Pass. At 19:08–19:09 WYDOT broadcast a weigh-in-motion event on all Jackson-area channels: a white tractor-trailer crossed Teton Pass (WY-22) at 95,097 lbs. A WYDOT unit (100) said it would head that way; no stop was logged. The transcribed company name ("Visible") is unreliable.
  • Two fire alarms, both minor. Engine 11 ran a residential fire alarm on Batch Plant Road at 12:34 — nothing showing, called unfounded at 12:47. Teton Village Fire took a commercial fire alarm at Crystal Springs Lodge at 18:41 (single zone-15 smoke activation, audible alarm on arrival); units investigated on a fire channel, no further outcome logged.
  • Bear in town. At 14:07 an officer reported eyes on a bear at Pioneer and East Simpson in Jackson; Game & Fish followed up on the bear call that evening (18:33).

Also on the air

A routine day otherwise: roughly 35 plate checks and 29 records checks, six traffic stops (mostly verbal/written warnings for speed, stop sign, passenger-restriction and license violations), a prisoner transport to Dubois and back (10:10–13:31), paper service, and a directed bike patrol at a town park. Overnight: an illegal-camping contact at the bus barn (00:05, cleared verbal), a welfare check at Spring Hill Suites for a screaming man (01:48), and a UTL noise complaint about a yelling bicyclist near Crabtree (02:49–02:58). Animal traffic included two dogs at large, a found dog returned, and the in-town bear. START buses worked detours around a Millward closure all morning; the apparent school-bus channel (TG 1812) spent 15:05–15:41 sorting several kids who boarded wrong buses or missed pickups — all reunited with parents/grandparents. Minor items: a motorist-assist fender-bender in the parking garage (15:30), a citizen who lost their parked car downtown (found at Cache and Hanson), rocks cleared from South US-89 at High School Road (16:13), and a disturbance call for a man urinating near the science school off Coyote Canyon Road (15:42).

By the numbers

  • 1,863 transmissions in 544 exchanges; 271 short status-only exchanges omitted from the detailed log.
  • Busiest talkgroup: TG 1801 Teton County law dispatch (1,207 transmissions); busiest hour: 16:00–17:00 (182), with the 14:00–18:00 block carrying the afternoon peak.
  • Categories: status 200, plate-check 35, records-check 29, medical 25, transit 15, animal 7, fire 6, traffic-stop 6, crash 6, traffic-complaint 4, suspicious 2, domestic 2, noise/parking 2, welfare 1, unclassified 204.

Caveats

  • Heavy Whisper garble today: unit numbers, road names and plate phonetics are frequently wrong, and several exchanges (including the 16:01/16:18 collision thread and the 21:09 call) are only partly readable. The overweight-truck company name is almost certainly mis-transcribed.
  • Not Teton County traffic: TG 13751 is Fremont County EMS paging — including a sawmill/structure fire west of Dubois (multiple departments paged 14:01–14:40, partial cancellation at 14:40) and an injury crash at 17:01. TG 109 and TG 6586 carried statewide WHP/I-80 complaints (Green River, Granger, Rock Springs), and a 16:27 attempt-to-locate for a missing at-risk adult was a Crook County case.
  • At 23:13 dispatch advised state returns ("CRCS") were down, locals only — late-night record checks may be incomplete. TG 1812 is unidentified but appears to be school-district bus operations.
