Top stories
- Two-vehicle injury crash, South US-89 near the Maverik light (13:47). A rear-end collision in front of a business transcribed as "Jackson South Town" left two women hurt — one with chest pain after hitting the steering wheel, one (~40) with neck and back pain. Medic 10, Medic 60 and Battalion 1 ("Broadway Command") responded on TG 1807/1808; Engine 11 was unstaffed. A small fuel/fluid leak from the rear vehicle was mitigated; one patient went to St. John's by Medic 60 (14:13), command terminated 14:21. One driver was reported unlicensed on air; her vehicle was towed ~14:35 and a deputy gave her a courtesy ride to Mountain House (14:58). School buses (TG 1812) reported backups past Smith's and detoured via the middle school and South Park Loop; the Kelly run swapped drivers at Gros Ventre Junction.
- Hit-and-run on Redmond Street — then the driver called in (17:24). Units 770/709 were sent for a hit-and-run near the hospital, suspect a silver Audi, female driver, last seen northbound on Redmond. The initial BOLO was overtaken on air: dispatch advised the suspect driver phoned in herself — she had continued driving to the hospital, where her husband is in the ICU.
- Possible impaired driver stopped at the Teton Pass truck ramp (07:39). A caller reported a blue Dodge Grand Caravan with Idaho plates eastbound on WY-22 from MM 11 swerving into oncoming traffic. Units 2246 and 41 intercepted from Wilson and had it stopped at the truck ramp by 07:47; field sobriety tests were run ~07:56. A returns readback mentioning prior local drug/no-DL history is garbled in transcription [suspect]. Units were code 4 and clear by 08:17; no arrest was stated on air.
- Trash-can fire at Teton Village (15:18). Someone threw burning material into a bear-proof trash can; fire units investigated, found it quickly, and stood down all incoming at 15:23. Fire resolved, no spread.
- Shots fired turns out to be raccoons (20:46). Units 2273/2233 responded to the South Bolton Road area [road name suspect] after a caller heard six shots. The caller then spoke with a neighbor who was indeed shooting raccoons; units cleared at 20:51 ("copy, good shooting").
Also on the air
A fairly ordinary day otherwise: ~7 local medical calls, including a man who fell and cut his head at the Town Square across from the Cowboy Bar just after midnight (reported intoxicated; refused transport), a chest-pain call at the Mountain Modern Motel (06:08, transported), a fall at Pioneer Homestead (08:00, transported), and a possible heart attack at the Alpine Motel (10:03). A commercial fire alarm on South Cache (08:05) was cancelled as a false alarm within three minutes. Roughly 25 records checks and 24 plate checks, with a cluster of bar-close-adjacent traffic stops along Broadway/Millward late evening; one midnight stop at Snow King Resort ended in a warning for public urination. Animal traffic: an injured elk call near Jackson (carcass left for WYDOT pickup), a moose drawing crowds at the North US-89 roundabout, a moose near the bus route, and a dog bite on Trails End resolved with a verbal warning to the owner. START dealt with town-shuttle detour confusion from Pearl Street construction and a persistent headsign glitch; dispatch also fielded a repeat 911 open-line caller (unassigned number pinging near Hoback) wanting to talk about drones.

1,512 transmissions across 472 exchanges (206 short status-only exchanges omitted from the log). Busiest talkgroup: TG 1801 Teton County law dispatch (670), then TG 1812 (208), TG 1807 Fire/EMS (156), TG 1820 START (137). Busiest hours: 16:00 (198) and 14:00 (194), both driven by the US-89 crash aftermath and school-bus traffic. Categories: status 166, unclassified 161, medical 42, records-check 25, plate-check 24, transit 19, crash 9, traffic-complaint 9, animal 8, fire 5, plus single welfare, hazard, noise/parking and 911 open-line items.
Caveats
- Out-of-county traffic mixed in: TG 13751 is Fremont County EMS/fire paging — the overnight Grove Lane/Fort Washakie structure fire (03:32) and the rig tank fire/explosion on Copper Mountain Road north of Shoshoni (08:39, no injuries reported) are not Teton County. TG 109/113 WHP statewide items (I-80 complaints at Rock Springs/Evanston, Riverton/Lander reports) are also non-local, and TG 245 appears to be a non-Teton school transit channel (references to LCCC suggest the Cheyenne area).
- Transcription quality: several key proper nouns are uncertain — the crash-scene business ("Jackson South Town"), "South Bolton Road," "South Jean Street," and most spelled-out records traffic are Whisper guesses; lines marked [suspect] are low-confidence.
- The first report of the town-square fall gave the patient as 50, corrected on air to 58; the Alpine Motel call's disposition (transport vs. clear) was not explicit on air.
