Top stories
- Injury crash on US-89 near MM 111 (07:26). WYDOT unit 199 and county units worked a reported 10-50 PI, two vehicles — a Toyota minivan with severe front-end damage and a Chevy Impala with severe rear-end damage — with glass and debris across the road. EMS was requested (the transcript's "two unresponsive vehicles" line is garbled; injury severity unclear). Both vehicles were towed by ~07:49 (TG 6386).
- Pedestrian struck on Clubhouse Drive (11:06). First paged as "vehicle versus pet," corrected on air to vehicle vs. pedestrian: a 58-year-old man bumped by a vehicle fell and injured his wrist. Battalion 6, Engine 61 and Medics 60 responded; Medics 60 transported to St. John's at 11:21 (TG 1801/1807).
- Moose strike on US-26 near Togwotee turns into a medical call. A vehicle-vs-moose collision east of Togwotee Mountain Lodge was logged as non-injury at 20:52 (moose ran off); a tow was arranged ~21:07 for heavy front-end damage. At 22:01 WHP requested medics to US-26 MM 13 for a female occupant with back pain; Rescue 44 and Medic 2 (from Colter Bay) responded, and at 22:56 the patient was evaluated and cleared for transport by law enforcement.
- Attempt-to-locate for a missing Illinois man (12:54, rebroadcast 13:34). A man in his 40s driving a white Dodge Ram, last hit on cameras in the Cheyenne area Tuesday/Wednesday, has a medical condition causing regular seizures; family says Grand Teton NP was a possible destination. Units asked to check welfare if located (TG 6403/1801).
- A very wildlife day. A lone bear cub near the Teton Pass summit on WY-22 drew two reports (10:31, 11:19) of people stopping to interact; by 20:01 Game & Fish had "collected the bear" with no traffic jam. A separate bear was moved from the market at the Aspens (18:38), later relocated off WY-390 in Wilson, with wardens still on it past 22:00. A bull moose drew crowds near S. Cache & Pearl at 19:06 (officer UTL; webcam caught it crossing Pearl), and a moose was reported running down WY-22 at MM 17 at 20:01.
- Late-night door-banging on Melody Creek Lane (23:00). An RP reported repeated aggressive banging on his door and went onto his porch with a shotgun as people ran off — then they came back. Two deputies responded and swept the neighborhood for a possible group of kids. It echoed a 00:17 call of five or six boys knocking on doors.
Also on the air
A steady traffic-enforcement day: ~48 plate checks and 28 records checks, with roughly a dozen stops — mostly verbal warnings for stop signs and speed — concentrated on South US-89 and the Broadway/N. Gros Ventre corridor, plus one DUI arrest at 23:03 (PBT 0.127, blood draw at St. John's, booked by 23:54). Other texture: a suspicious vehicle in Wilson resolved as an elderly owner who forgot to close his vehicle (08:50); WYDOT weigh-in-motion hits on WY-22 including a tractor-trailer at 94,729 lb over Teton Pass (20:09); a Game & Fish poaching follow-up near Poker Hollow that turned up nothing (16:00) and a horseback check of a dead-bear report from Granite Creek Trailhead; a minor rear-end at Broadway & Pearl (15:20); a found purse on West Pearl; a motorist stuck in the parking garage; a report of someone selling water from a trailer at the old Big O Tires lot; a Teton Village residential fire alarm with no fire (19:10); and routine START bus traffic, including a swapped bus with a flashing check-engine light (06:04) and a slow crawl over the pass delaying Village runs (18:48).
By the numbers
- 1,833 transmissions across 554 exchanges (227 short status-only exchanges omitted from the log).
- Busiest talkgroup: TG 1801 Teton County law dispatch, 1,148 transmissions; next: TG 6386 Highway/WYDOT and TG 1820 START transit, 181 each.
- Busiest hour: 16:00–17:00 (175 transmissions); near-silent 01:00–05:00.
- Categories: status 208, unclassified 165, plate-check 48, medical 34, records-check 28, transit 17, animal 17, traffic-stop 10, traffic-complaint 8, crash 6, hazard 3, fire 3, plus singles/pairs (welfare, suspicious, 911 open line, alarm, noise-parking).
Caveats
- TG 13751 (58 transmissions, ~15 medical pages) is Fremont County EMS paging out of Lander/Riverton, TG 1404 is non-Teton county law, and most TG 109 WHP traffic was Evanston/Rock Springs-area — none of it is Teton County activity and it's excluded above.
- Whisper transcription is rough today: unit numbers, plates and several place names are unreliable, and key lines are garbled — e.g., whether the 07:26 US-89 crash involved unresponsive occupants or unoccupied vehicles, and whether the 14:48 N. Cache collision was injury or non-injury.
- The 20:10 request to have troopers "intercept" appears tied to the overweight Teton Pass load, but the referenced patrol area ("Rollins") is unclear in the transcript.
