Jackson council to review biennial Land Development Regulations update

Jackson’s Town Council is set to review and potentially advance the town’s biennial Land Development Regulations (LDRs) text amendment update on Sept. 28, a two year “cleanup” process that now reaches well beyond housekeeping Special Town Council Meeting Agenda.

The staff report describes dozens of proposed edits, from administrative clarifications to substantive standards. For those of us who care about habitat inside town limits, the package is where the Natural Resources Overlay and related environmental provisions get tuned in plain language. Staff say the update is meant to “address errors and inconsistencies, clarifies ambiguous provisions, codifies common interpretations,” and the Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval Sept. 2 after workshops in August Special Town Council Meeting Agenda Packet. Council members can still pull specific numbered changes for discussion, and staff note that any approved amendments require three ordinance readings.
