Jackson council to vote on new building permit fees (Resolution 26-19)
On Sept. 28, Jackson’s Town Council is set to consider Resolution 26-19, a package of updates to the Town’s building permit fee schedule that would change what homeowners and contractors pay when pulling permits.
If you are planning an addition, a remodel, or even just trying to make sense of why permitting costs what it does, Jackson’s Town Council is set to vote Monday, Sept. 28 on Resolution 26-19 to update the Town’s building permit fee schedule meeting agenda.
The packet includes pages of line-item fees for building permits and related inspections (with separate sections for building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire permit fees). When this comes up, I will be listening for the plain-English explanation: which fees are going up or down for a typical home project, and whether any of the changes are meant to speed up review times, or simply to keep the permit program funded at current staffing levels. agenda packet
