Scenic Preserve Trust board to weigh $750,000 for High School Butte trailhead

Teton County commissioners, acting as the Scenic Preserve Trust board, are set to vote Monday on a resolution that would allocate $750,000 from the 2022 land-conservation special purpose excise tax to help fund the purchase of the High School Butte Trailhead Parcel resolution packet.

Staff’s fiscal note says there is $2,123,776 left in the 2022 Land Conservation Opportunities SPET account. The resolution frames the request as protecting public access at a heavily used in-town trailhead, and it directs the county treasurer to disburse the money at closing if the board approves the allocation.
