Housing Authority set to hire CommunityScale for NOAH housing study
On Sept. 2, the Jackson/Teton County Housing Authority is expected to pick CommunityScale to run a Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing study, using a $25,000 Community Foundation of Jackson Hole grant.
If you are renting in an older apartment that is still (barely) within reach, the Housing Authority is about to decide whether to pay for a study meant to keep those homes from disappearing.
At its Sept. 2 meeting, the Jackson/Teton County Housing Authority is set to select CommunityScale as the consultant for a Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH) study and direct staff to execute a contract for professional services, funded by a grant from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. Staff says two qualified proposals came in, but CommunityScale offered more within the budget, including “future trend projections, policy intervention consideration, and data visualizations” Housing Authority Meeting Agenda Packet. The practical question I will be watching is how fast this turns into recommendations the town and county can act on, because “naturally affordable” units can flip to market rent in one lease renewal.
