County mill levy vote sets FY27 property tax draw at $230.7 million

Teton County commissioners approved the 2026 mill levy package on Aug. 3, locking in a 56.119-mill countywide base for FY27 that is projected to raise $230,707,396 V Board Meeting Minutes and Financials Packet. County Assessor Mel Shinkle presented the levy report, and the board passed it 3-0 with no public comment.
The detailed levy packet shows where most of that property tax draw lands: $102.8 million for the mandatory school district levy, $49.3 million for the Wyoming State School Foundation Program, and $32.4 million for the County General Fund Board of County Commissioners Mill Levy Setting Packet. The overall mill rate slipped slightly from 56.299 in 2025 to 56.119 in 2026, but projected collections still rise from about $216.1 million to $230.7 million because the county's assessed value grew.
