Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners will consider approving $22,197.80 in Energy Mitigation Program funding to install destratification fans, upgrade building-automation controls, and do air sealing around doors and windows in the Recycling Center sorting warehouse EMP funding packet.
The county’s sustainability coordinator and Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling staff say the warehouse is the county’s fourth-largest energy user, with space heating driving the bulk of the bill. An attached May 2026 energy analysis found natural gas use averages about 17,000 therms a year (about $24,000), and flagged air leakage from frequent overhead-door use as the dominant heat loss. The Phase 1 ask targets air mixing and basic sealing, with staff describing it as an early step in a broader retrofit plan for the 1994-built processing space.
