County to weigh $13,616 Hoback Junction water project fee waiver

Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday will consider a request to waive approximately $13,616.25 in planning, engineering, building, and fire-related permit fees for Hoback Junction Water & Sewer District’s public water system improvements staff report.

The district, through Nelson Engineering, argues the project meets the county’s fee waiver policy tests for a community-wide benefit and for applications by a government agency with fees over $6,000. The staff report lists $6,316.25 in permits already paid, which would be refunded if commissioners approve the waiver, and an additional set of future permit fees that would be waived. Staff also flags one boundary on any waiver, direct costs the county pays to third parties, including a $128.96 outsourced building-plan review cost that is excluded from the requested waiver.
