County to grant Town of Jackson a Justice Center sidewalk easement

Teton County commissioners on Tuesday, Sept. 1, will vote on granting the Town of Jackson a perpetual, non-exclusive sidewalk and utility easement across Justice Center property, a step staff says is needed to lock in public access, circulation, and utility capacity for the site. The agreement authorizes the Town to “lay out, construct, maintain, and use a roadway and appurtenant sidewalk” and to install and maintain utilities including sewer, water, stormwater, streetlights, gas, communications and electricity, according to the Justice Center Sidewalk Easement agenda packet.

The county is not proposing a separate payment for the easement. Staff says the work is already covered under the Justice Center’s Guaranteed Maximum Price contract with GE Johnson and DPR, and county General Services will administer the agreement with the owner’s representative Wember and the construction team. The packet includes legal descriptions and maps for three easement segments around the Justice Center block.
