John Grade recommended for Justice Center public art piece

Jackson Hole Public Art has recommended John Grade for the Teton County Justice Center public art installation, and the Board of County Commissioners still has to give final approval before the commissioner's choice becomes official. The report says the jury turned away from the first artist call, drew more than 120 submissions in the second round, narrowed the field to three finalists, and took public comment before making its recommendation Teton County Justice Center Staff Report.

For a project that has already grown into an $118.5 million build, this is one more visible decision about how the county wants the finished complex to read to the public. John Grade's selection would shape the site well beyond concrete and steel, but the county still has to sign off before the piece moves ahead.
