County vote would add seasonal employee housing to new coroner facility design

Teton County commissioners are set to vote Sept. 1 on adding seasonal employee housing to the new coroner facility at Adams Canyon, by approving a $61,000 additional service fee for Plan One/Architects to fold housing into the building’s design meeting agenda.

County staff say the board decided July 7 to add a second floor for seasonal employees, and the architect’s scope includes developing “two to three conceptual design alternatives,” including a “bunk house” option to maximize occupancy meeting agenda. If the commission approves the design add-on, the next question for housing watchers is capacity, how many beds this actually creates, and whether the county will deed-restrict or otherwise manage the units as true workforce housing instead of an amenity.
