$50,000 juvenile diversion contract heads to county vote

Teton County commissioners are set to approve a $50,000 contract with the University of Wyoming for the county's Juvenile Diversion Program, funding services through Teton Youth & Family Services for the Oct. 1, 2025 to Sept. 30, 2026 grant period. The staff report and contract packet says the award also includes a $2,500 administrative fee for Teton County and recommends board approval.

The useful part here is that the contract actually names some performance measures. The program's target is for at least 88% of youth served to avoid reoffending before age 18, and all diversion clients are to get pre and post assessments, access to restorative justice circles, and wraparound services based on need. The budget breaks the $50,000 into $14,400 for treatment, $13,822 for supplies, $7,500 for training, $6,278 for insurance, $5,000 for equipment, and $3,000 for one diversion officer salary staff report and contract packet.
