Recreation Center access policy heads to county commissioners

Teton County commissioners are set to vote today on a Recreation Center access policy that would turn a long-running, informal employee benefit into a written program for Town of Jackson and Teton County workers, according to the staff report. Parks and Recreation says the current setup has been handled through payroll deductions for county employees and front-desk payments for town employees, with 257 active employee memberships now in the system.

For families, the part to watch is whether commissioners agree to formalize access for a larger public workforce and household members, not just keep an unwritten perk moving along. Staff says the update would benefit more than 500 full-time, seasonal and part-time town and county employees, and expects the fiscal impact to be minimal because employees are a small share of total Recreation Center users.
