County to weigh $165,643 a year for substance-use and suicide prevention

Teton County commissioners on Tuesday are set to consider a Wyoming Department of Health grant agreement that would put $165,643.50 a year toward substance-use and suicide-prevention work, including the salary and benefits for the county’s full-time Prevention Coordinator (1 FTE) plus operating expenses Prevention Services grant packet.

The staff report says the coordinator oversees the Community Prevention Coalition of Teton County, a group that includes representatives from 20 local agencies and community sectors like education, healthcare, law enforcement, mental health providers, and housing. The agreement’s statement of work lists focus areas that include underage drinking and youth marijuana use, tobacco and nicotine, opioids and other drugs, and suicide prevention.
