County to vote on WYDOT agreement for WY-22 underpass plan review

Teton County commissioners are set to vote Aug. 4 on a Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) cooperative agreement for the WY-22 underpass project, paying an estimated $6,660 for WYDOT to review design and contract plans for a proposed pedestrian underpass at reference marker 1.7. The county would reimburse WYDOT’s actual costs and could terminate if costs run 20% over the estimate, according to the meeting agenda and the attached staff report and agreement.

The Public Works memo frames the underpass as a safety move aimed at cutting left turns in and out of Teton Science Schools and Indian Springs Ranch while keeping pathway access and replacing an aging county-maintained cattle underpass. Staff also cautions that signing this plan-review agreement is not a commitment to fund later design or construction, and notes that any vehicular box-culvert piece would be handled under a separate agreement.
