Commissioners to review $118.5 million Justice Center budget

Teton County commissioners are set to review a Justice Center monthly update that keeps the project budget at $118.5 million, including soft costs and contingencies. The report says the project is currently on budget after the Board of County Commissioners approved the final Guaranteed Maximum Price in February, and it lists $109.0 million in committed cost, $24.2 million in incurred costs, and $84.8 million left to finish. It also shows total owner contingency remaining at $2,898,386.87, with pending draws still in the queue.

That budget matters because this is already a bigger undertaking than the county first sketched out. The county's tracked project history shows the Justice Center grew to 80,120 square feet, added a third courtroom, municipal court, victim services, and a jail administration suite, and reached a final construction Guaranteed Maximum Price of $92,519,331 earlier this year. Monday's update gives taxpayers the number to watch now: whether the county can carry that expanded scope to a Fall 2028 finish without eating deeper into contingency.
