County to hear update on UW habitat indicators research for land-use
On Aug. 3, Teton County commissioners will get a progress update on the county’s contract with the University of Wyoming’s Haub School to develop habitat-based indicators meant to inform land-use decisions.
Teton County’s land-use rules only protect wildlife as well as the data behind them. On Monday, Aug. 3, the Board of County Commissioners will hold a workshop update on its contract with the University of Wyoming’s Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources, aimed at developing “habitat-based indicators” that county planners can use to evaluate development and policy choices strategic initiatives packet.
The packet says the contract supports graduate-level research on habitat-based indicators, data gaps, and long-term monitoring needs, and that recruitment of a graduate researcher was an early step.
