County to set 2026 property tax mill levies Aug. 3, with drop for Conservation District

On Aug. 3 the Teton County Board of Commissioners is set to certify the 2026 mill levy report (for FY2027 budgets), keeping the county general fund at 7.879 mills while lowering the Teton Conservation District levy from 0.670 to 0.490 mills.

The Teton County Board of County Commissioners is set to approve the 2026 mill levy report at its Aug. 3 voucher meeting, a required annual step that locks in property tax rates used to fund the county, schools, and several special districts for the FY2027 budget year mill levy packet.

For ranch country, the line worth watching is the split between the rate and the tax dollars. The packet shows the County General Fund staying flat at 7.879 mills, but the tax collected under that levy rising from $29,983,175.46 in 2025 to $32,390,876.01 in 2026. Total listed levies in the table drop slightly (56.299 to 56.119 mills). One notable change is the Teton Conservation District levy, which the packet lists falling from 0.670 to 0.490 mills Board agenda.
