County to talk Safe Streets grant bid for WY390 eastside path
On July 20, county commissioners will discuss staff’s Safe Streets and Roads for All grant application to design and partly build the eastside WY390 pathway from Calico to the Aspens.
Teton County staff will ask the Board of County Commissioners on July 20 to keep pushing a Safe Streets and Roads for All grant application that would pay for design and partial construction of the eastside WY390 pathway between Calico and the Aspens workshop staff report. For folks trying to keep kids, bikes, and slow-moving equipment off the travel lane, this is one of the few near-term moves on that stretch that actually pencils out into a plan.
The staff report says the east side still has “limited pedestrian and bicycle connectivity,” and frames the pathway work as a 1 to 5-year opportunity alongside other corridor fixes. This Calico-to-Aspens segment has been floating in the county’s federal Safe Streets work for years; the county previously sized it at about $1 million in federal funds with a $200,000 local match, and as of mid-2026 it is still at the conceptual stage with no final design or construction phasing locked in.
