Parks proposals would be limited to two one-month windows each year
Teton County Jackson Parks and Recreation is proposing to only accept community-initiated park project proposals May 1-31 and Nov. 1-30, a change staff says is meant to align reviews with priorities and the capital planning cycle.
Teton County Jackson Parks and Recreation is proposing a hard intake schedule for community initiated park project proposals: staff would only accept applications May 1 through May 31 and November 1 through November 30, instead of taking them on a rolling basis. The policy is in front of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board on July 14, and if you are a business or nonprofit that wants to pitch a park amenity, this sets your calendar for when staff will even look at it. Staff frames the change as a capacity and planning move, saying the fixed windows help the department and advisory board stay focused on scheduled priorities and line up proposals with the Town and County Capital Improvement Plan cycle. Practically, it also means a missed deadline can push a proposal back by months, so anyone planning a donor driven facility or public space improvement should plan around those two submission months.
