County to interview candidates for Travel and Tourism Board seats
Teton County commissioners and the Jackson Town Council plan to interview five applicants for two Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board seats that handle the county’s lodging tax dollars and visitor programs.
The Teton County Commission and Jackson Town Council are set to interview five applicants for two open Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board seats, then make appointments that run through June 30, 2029, according to the volunteer board interviews agenda.
The Travel and Tourism Joint Powers Board was created to allocate Teton County’s portion of the lodging tax, and its scope now includes visitor education and “destination stewardship,” per the Special Joint Meeting agenda packet. Two seats expired June 30, 2026, and staff report that five applications were received, including from the two members with expiring seats: Sam Pope and Shelby Scharp. The other applicants listed are John Beye, Maggie Gibson, and Samantha Strawbridge.
