Officials to interview 5 applicants for Travel and Tourism Board seats

Town Council and County Commission will interview five candidates July 7 to fill two Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board seats, which steer Teton County’s lodging-tax dollars for marketing and destination stewardship.

The Jackson Town Council and Teton County Commission are set to interview five applicants on July 7 for two openings on the Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board, a joint powers board created in 2011 to allocate Teton County’s portion of the lodging tax and, more recently, to oversee visitor education and destination stewardship Special Joint Meeting Agenda Packet.

The packet lists applicants John Beye, Maggie Gibson, current member Sam Pope, current member Shelby Scharp, and Samantha Strawbridge. Two seats expired June 30, and the board roster shows remaining terms running from 2027 through 2029. After interviews, the elected boards may go into executive session “if necessary” before making appointments; staff’s recommended motion would seat two people to full terms expiring June 30, 2029 Special Joint Meeting Agenda Packet.
