Yellowstone Day Tours permit would lock its vans into 250 N Cache parking

Planning commissioners July 1 will review a conditional use permit for Yellowstone Day Tours at 250 N Cache, with staff recommending approval if the company keeps vehicle staging on-site and upgrades nonconforming exterior lighting.

Yellowstone Day Tours is asking the Town of Jackson for a conditional use permit to run an outfitter and tour-operator base out of an 832 sq ft office at 250 N Cache Street, with staff recommending approval if the business keeps all fleet and employee vehicle exchanges on the property and posts signed spaces for at least six vehicles staff report in agenda packet.

The staff report says the company does not plan to have customers drive to the site. It describes early morning departures (about 5:45 to 6:00 a.m.) and evening returns (about 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.) in summer, and recommends three conditions: replace nonconforming exterior lighting to meet dark-sky standards, confine all associated vehicles to the parking area east of the structure at 250 N Cache (not 260 or 262 N Cache), and add posted signage reserving the spaces for the tour operator. The Planning and Zoning Commission will make a recommendation to the Town Council, which is the final decision maker meeting agenda.
