The Board of County Commissioners approved up to another $1 million in 2022 Transportation Alternatives SPET funds for the Stilson Transit Center, bringing the county's total SPET support for the project to no more than $8,388,892. The extra money is meant to keep construction moving on the regional transit hub, which is scheduled to open in July.

The May 5 action came after staff said some federal BUILD grant dollars were shifted to professional services, leaving a funding gap for construction. The county first approved the project's budget in December 2024, and the latest allocation keeps the project within its broader $15.2 million budget while construction continues on one of the region's biggest transit investments Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes.
