County commissioners to consider ending J-W water system emergency
On June 15, Teton County commissioners are set to vote on whether to terminate the localized emergency declaration tied to the J-W Subdivision water main failure in Hoback Junction.
Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners is set to decide Monday whether to terminate the localized emergency declaration connected to the J-W Subdivision’s private water system failure in Hoback Junction meeting agenda.
The declaration was adopted June 1 after a main line leak left the neighborhood without potable water and raised sanitation and public health concerns; the county’s staff report at the time said the J-W Homeowners Association and its insurance were paying for repairs, while the county provided coordination support through Emergency Management, Public Works, Public Health, and communications staff emergency declaration packet. If the board ends the declaration, the practical question for residents is what county coordination (if any) continues while the system is stabilized and any remaining mitigation work is finished.
