Hoback Junction water system design is done, bid comes next

The Hoback Junction water system is fully designed, and the district plans to put the project out to bid by late summer 2026.

The Hoback Junction Water and Sewer District says the water system design is complete and the project is ready to go out to bid, with construction hoped for later this summer. That puts the long-running Hoback clean water effort into the last stretch before shovels hit dirt, after years of engineering, permitting and funding work Clean drinking water in Hoback.

The district’s June 3 letter says the system is nearing the conclusion of the process and frames the next step as a bid package, not a redesign. The broader project history shows a total budget in the $6 million to $6.5 million range, with the county’s earlier SPET commitment and state design money already in place, so the question now is whether the bid lands inside that number and how much contingency the work still needs.
