Town is workshopping employee housing, the only agenda item I care about

When housing is this tight, even a 45 minute workshop matters. Jackson Town Council’s Monday afternoon agenda sets aside time for a Town Employee Housing Strategy, alongside zoning and joint powers updates. For me, this is the item worth watching because every public employer competing for workers is also competing with our rent.

The agenda does not say what council will consider, so this is more of a heads-up than a verdict. But if the town is serious about keeping people in jobs that make daily life run, then the practical questions are simple: how many units, who qualifies, what will the rent be, and when do those homes actually come online. Those are the details that decide whether a housing strategy changes anything for workers or just becomes another presentation.
