Jackson council workshop gives 90 minutes to Natural Resource Overlay rewrite
The May 18 Jackson Town Council workshop agenda puts the Natural Resource Overlay zoning map and text amendments in the longest slot, a procedural tell that the NRO rewrite is back in a high-leverage drafting phase before any formal vote.
Jackson’s Town Council is signaling where the real policy work is right now, by giving the Natural Resource Overlay (NRO) zoning map amendment and text amendments a 90 minute workshop block, the longest item on the May 18 agenda. Workshops are where council members pressure test staff’s draft language in public, tee up revisions, and shape what will later come back as an ordinance with an actual motion, notice, and vote. See: Town Council Workshop Meeting Agenda.
Public participation is available in person and via Zoom, with the town reserving the right to close Zoom public comment while continuing in person comment; written comments can be emailed to electedofficials@jacksonwy.gov. The same workshop agenda also includes 45 minutes on a Town employee housing strategy and 45 minutes on joint powers agreement updates, but the time allocation makes the NRO rewrite the day’s main event.
