Wilson Fire Station #2 may finally tie into sewer—$2,900 design up first
Teton County is asking commissioners to approve a $2,900 engineering work order, paid from 2022 Water Quality SPET, to design a sewer connection for Wilson Fire Station #2—replacing its septic system and sizing the line for future station expansion.
Wilson’s west-side commute bottleneck isn’t just WY-22—basic infrastructure at Fire Station #2 is still running on septic. Teton County is taking the first step toward changing that with a $2,900 design contract to connect the station to the Wilson Sewer District system, using 2022 Water Quality SPET funds, according to a county staff report: Wilson Fire Station #2 Sewer Connection Design.
The work would reroute wastewater to an existing sewer main along the south and west sides of the building, then remove and dispose of the current septic tanks and leach-field components. County staff say the new service line will be designed to accommodate a future expansion or rebuild of the station.
Once design is finished, Public Works plans to bid the construction as an “informal” project (under $35,000) and bring a separate construction contract back to the commissioners for approval. Coordination is listed with Jackson Hole Fire/EMS and the Wilson Sewer District.
