Senior Center seeks $357k in FY27 town/county HHS funds for meals, home care
A FY2027 Health & Human Services staff report tees up the Senior Center of Jackson Hole’s request for $357,220 from Teton County and the Town of Jackson, largely to support home care, transportation and senior meals.
The Senior Center of Jackson Hole is asking Teton County and the Town of Jackson for a combined $357,220 in FY2027 Health & Human Services funding, according to a county staff report in the joint grant packet: Senior Center of Jackson Hole Funding Request Staff Report. The request totals $215,200 from the county and $142,020 from the town — about 20% of the nonprofit’s $1.715 million annual operating budget.
Most of the dollars are targeted at the nuts-and-bolts services that keep older residents out of higher-cost care settings: $107,600 under “Other” for home care and transportation, plus $124,810 combined in “Food Security” for congregate and home-delivered meals. The county piece also includes $53,800 for “Physical Health Support,” tied to the center’s slate of fitness classes and associated health education and screenings.
The application flags a looming hit elsewhere — the organization says it receives government funding beyond this request and is anticipating a reduction — which is the kind of pressure point that can turn these budget talks from routine to consequential. For context on workload, the center reports that from July 1, 2025 through Feb. 28, 2026 it served 1,407 older adults, delivered 3,250 home meals, provided 2,763 home care hours, and logged 1,712 bus rides. Next procedural step: the town council and county commission will weigh this request against other FY27 human-services priorities during the joint funding deliberations and budget hearings.
