Teton commissioners to weigh $15k FY27 grant for Family Safety Network (Alta)

A FY2027 outside-agency request asks Teton County for $15,000 to support Family Safety Network crisis-response and advocacy services for Alta-area clients. The request is dated April 27 and is expected to be considered in the county’s FY27 allocations process.

Teton County’s FY2027 Health & Human Services funding packet includes a $15,000 request from the Family Safety Network of Teton Valley for “Violence, Abuse & Neglect” services tied to Alta, Wyoming clients and people who live in Teton Valley but work in Teton County. The application describes 24/7 crisis intervention, case management, emergency shelter and transitional housing support, protection-order assistance, and advocacy in civil and criminal systems. (The request does not seek Town of Jackson dollars.)

In the application, Family Safety Network says the $15,000 request is about 2% of its roughly $600,180 annual budget and would help ensure round-the-clock staffing for crisis response and survivor support. The group reports a surge in shelter demand in 2024 (1,789 bed-nights provided, up 450% from 2023) and says 2025 “leveled out” at 1,382 bed nights and about 40 people served per month through the helpline, counseling, case management or emergency housing.

As its outcome measures, the organization points to increased client services, expanded shelter capacity (including an ADA-compliant ADU intended to add at least 365 bed-nights annually), and client-survey results. In its report on last year’s county funding, Family Safety Network says Teton County dollars supported 20 Wyoming clients (and children), including 50+ nights of emergency shelter, five hotel nights for immediate safety needs, and transportation help such as START bus passes and gas cards.

Commissioners are expected to consider the request as part of the county’s FY27 outside-agency allocations process. Details are in the county staff report and application: Family Safety Network of Teton Valley Funding Request Staff Report.
