Teton commissioners to weigh $37,100 FY27 request for Energy Conservation Works
Energy Conservation Works is seeking $37,100 each from Teton County and the Town of Jackson for FY2027 operations and programs, including loan programs and a community solar project. County commissioners are scheduled to discuss the request at the April 27 meeting.
Energy Conservation Works (ECW) is requesting $37,100 from Teton County and $37,100 from the Town of Jackson for FY2027 community-development/community-initiatives support, according to the county’s staff report for the FY27 application. ECW says the funding would provide operational and program support for its residential and commercial energy-efficiency loan programs, community engagement and education (including EcoFair), and work toward a community solar project with Lower Valley Energy.
ECW describes itself as a partnership created through a joint powers agreement between the town and county and coordinated with Lower Valley Energy to “unlock greater energy efficiency” than any partner could alone. In its metrics list, ECW says it tracks items such as electricity (kWh) and natural gas (therms) savings, green-power and community-solar subscriptions, loan volume, matched public/private funds, and greenhouse-gas reductions.
The request is on the April 27, 2026 meeting agenda materials for the joint FY2027 Community Development review; the packet notes the town and county typically discuss applications jointly but make actual funding decisions in separate budget meetings later. (As of April 22, the April 27 meeting has not occurred.)
