Teton County to weigh $24k FY27 request from Seniors West for Alta services

Teton County commissioners are scheduled April 27 to consider a FY2027 outside-agency request from Seniors West of the Tetons for $24,000 to support meals and senior programming serving Alta residents.

Teton County commissioners are scheduled to review an FY2027 outside-agency funding request from Seniors West of the Tetons totaling $24,000, aimed at services used by seniors living in Alta, Wyoming. The request is broken into $16,000 under “Food Security” for grocery costs tied to congregate and home-delivered meals, plus $8,000 under “Other” for Medicare support, tax assistance, fitness classes and general senior programming, according to the county staff report and application. In its application, the Driggs-based nonprofit says it delivered more than 850 meals to Alta residents in 2025 and argues the funding helps seniors “age in place” without needing to travel to Jackson for comparable services. It also describes regular wellness check-ins tied to meal deliveries and programming such as VITA tax preparation and Medicare counseling. (Seniors West of the Tetons Funding Request Staff Report)

The organization’s stated performance measures include tracking meals served and home-delivered meals, counts of participants in tax/Medicare/programming services, and participant feedback via informal surveys and conversations. The application lists its annual budget at about $607,483, making the $24,000 request about 4% of its operating budget. (Seniors West of the Tetons Funding Request Staff Report)
