Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners is scheduled to consider an FY2027 outside-agency funding request from Teton Youth & Family Services (TYFS) totaling $651,078 from the county, according to a BCC Staff Report — Teton Youth and Family Services Funding Request FY27.
TYFS is seeking county support across three priority areas listed in the application — Behavioral Health Support, Crisis Services, and Violence/Abuse/Neglect — and says it is requesting a 3% increase to “sustain and expand access” amid rising demand and provider costs. The same application shows an additional $433,806 request from the Town of Jackson.
In the narrative portions of the request, TYFS describes a “continuum” of services delivered 24/7 that includes outpatient and family services through the Hirschfield Center for Children (therapy, crisis intervention, juvenile diversion, parenting support and forensic interviews), the Van Vleck House crisis shelter/group home and “safe room” for youth ages 10–18, and Red Top Meadows Residential Treatment Center.
The application also reports TYFS served 808 youth and families in 2025 and cites service metrics including 2,452 hours of therapy (156 clients), 44 forensic interviews, 20 “safe nights” for actively suicidal youth, and 752 juvenile diversion meetings. Commissioners’ action on the request is expected as part of the county’s FY2027 outside-agency funding decisions at the April 27 meeting.
