Teton commissioners to postpone septic variance hearing for 4472 Lower Gros Ventre Rd

On April 21, the Teton County Board of County Commissioners is scheduled to postpone a public hearing on SWF2026-0005, a request to allow a new septic system on a lot smaller than 2 acres at 4472 Lower Gros Ventre Road.

Teton County’s Board of County Commissioners meets April 21 with a request to postpone the public hearing for SWF2026-0005, a variance under the county’s Small Wastewater Facility (septic) rules for 4472 Lower Gros Ventre Road. The variance request seeks approval for a new septic system on a lot smaller than 2 acres, which typically requires a variance under Title 9 SWF regulations.

County engineering staff say the applicant has indicated the septic design may change and asked to delay the hearing to a date not yet determined. Under the county’s Land Development Regulations, an applicant is entitled to request (and be granted) one continuance of a public hearing; additional continuances are discretionary and must show good cause, staff wrote.

Because the next hearing date is unknown, staff says the county will issue a new legal notice (mailing and publication) once a date is selected. Staff’s suggested motion is to postpone the application “to a date uncertain.”
